17 TATTOO SEMI PERMANENT LIQUID EYELINER | MAKEUP REVIEW

I saw the advert for this new 17 product and the 'semi permanent' caught my attention. For some reason no eyeliner, whether it is expensive or cheap will stay on me and it is seriously irritating. So I thought considering I actually like the brand and it is like a 'tattoo' I thought I would give it a go and hope for the best. It was only £4.99 so I wasn't loosing much.

Advantages

It turns out that this is the best liquid eyeliner I have ever bought. It stays on perfectly well and comes out fairly matte which is what I wanted. It claims to stay on for 48 hours but realistically it stays on me for about 8 hours. I may need to top it up if my eye shadow or powder has melted onto it but that is if I am wearing ALL day. I usually have a shower and nearly all my makeup comes off, but with this eyeliner it actually stays on which is bizarre. I have to use a really good makeup wipe to actually get it off which is annoying but at least it is guaranteed to stay on.

For me, this eyeliner is smudge proof and waterproof; not even scrubbing in the shower can remove it. It is really black which is exactly what I wanted, and I don't think it comes in any other colours. It has an intense pigmented formulation so it gives a really dramatic look, depending on how much you apply. It can be worn any time of the day and can look extreme or natural.

Disadvantages

As much as I love how brilliantly well it stays on my eyes and I have no problems when I have it on, if you make a mistake when applying it, it is the most difficult thing to get off and you end up scrubbing your whole eyelid which therefore removes all eyeshadow and concealer etc and makes your eyes all red and puffy. I am always trying to put it on quickly in the morning before school and it is a nightmare to remove, escpecially when you are in a hurry. My flicks always ten to go wrong too so once you have done it, there is no going back.

Also, when applying it, I find that the wand brush is quite flimsy and it doesn't apply as well as some of the other eyeliners I have used. It tends to be quite thick and therefore makes my eyelashes stick together and so I can't apply my mascara that well. However I find that if I just swap the brush with one of my other liquid eyeliners it is absolutely fine.

I am determined not to write that many negatives as I really love this product too much and will continue to buy it again and again.

SO CHANGEABLE

So, I dyed my hair dark brown/black with a hint of red/purple all over as in person my hair was really light brown and was all different colours as it had naturally faded from the sun over time. This was my first time dying it and I got a hairdresser to do it. I really prefer it to my natural colour, and I think I am going to dye it myself permanently when it fades.

I also got 4 piercings done on my left ear - I got my seconds and thirds done like 7 weeks ago so I have recently been able to change them so I thought I would show you guys. I also got my seconds done on my right ear at the weekend. I now have 6 in total!

17 BRONZING SHIMMER BRICK | BEAUTY WEEK #2

This is the second makeup product for my 'Beauty Week'. I am reviewing only the Bronzing Brick, however I must say the brush is also brilliant too!

'Be sun kissed in an instant with 17 Instant Glow Shimmer Brick. Multi shade bronzing for ultimate glow appeal.'

The item is priced at £4.99 and you can only buy it new from Boots as this is their own brand. I think this is extremely reasonable for a good bronzer so I was very happy with the price! I bought the Gold version of it as I prefer this on my cheeks, you can also buy the pink version. The packaging and the palette is very basic - it just came in a plastic wrapper.

The appearance of the bronzer brick on the face is very shimmery, makes your skin glow and really highlights your cheekbones. The multi shades look fantastic because it has a subtle sparkle on the skin. It looks different to other bronzers because of the lighter shades in the palette. I tend to only use the three lightest shades because it makes my skin appear dewy and really highlights the cheekbones. I use my proper 17 bronzer to tan my face.

I don't think it looks like bronzer as most of the shades are lighter, plus it has too much of a glow and sparkle. I have a seperate bronzer which I use as well, but I use this simply to highlight my cheeks, make them glow and make my skin look dewy. I really LOVE this product because it is so different to any other product I have used; I would definitely recommend!

COLLECTION 2000 WATERPROOF LIQUID EYELINER | REVIEW

I bought this eyeliner because it had a rock hard brush and I usually find this easier to use. But it is actually quite hard to apply the eyeliner and hardly any of the liquid goes onto the brush which is irritating.

I couldnt quite grasp doing the flicks with this eyeliner as it kept blogding all over so I turned to my trustworthy Natural Collection liquid liner. The line also came out quite grey (as you may be able to see in the photo) and I really want it jet black.

It was £2.99 which is amazing for a Waterproof liquid eyeliner with a stiff brush! Well... actually it isn't particulary waterproof. I literally licked my finger and rubbed the eyeliner off within a couple strokes. (After it had dryed properly). It set quite hard on my eyelid and sort of crumbles off which was kind of yukky.

Overall - 3/5 (A gave it an extra mark because it has a hard brush)

BOBBI BROWN RED LIPSTICK | REVIEW

I recently bought a Bobbi Brown Lipstick and I thought I would do a short review for you:

The Basics: I purchased this in the House Of Fraser, Bristol Cabot Circus shop. The price was £18, but there was a 10% discount that day which was brilliant! The colour has such a simple name: Red. The number is 10. Bobbi Brown class this as 'A Fire Engine Red', but I would have to disagree and say it was a little bit darker. The picture below does not really do justice on how beautiful the colour is, so I apoligise for the picture quality.

What Bobbi Brown claims: This creamy, semi-matte lipstick gives lips instant polish with rich, full coverage.

Suprisingly I would have to agree with this statement.
It gives a thick coverage which covers every last space of lips, even the inside of your mouth (I always find this a huge problem as I can be wearing a bright colour which looks perfect, but when I speak the inside looks bare and stupid!)
It lasts for a few hours, although eating and drinking usually rubs it off.
This is quite a strange positive but it is a fairly strong lipstick (Meaning it will not snap easily). I have had a lot of lippys in the past break and it is very irritating as it ruins them. The stick is also very long which means it will last a long time. The price is expensive so at least you won't have to keep buying them frequently.

However I do have a few disagreements and negatives to share. I would have say that the semi- matte part is untrue as I class this as shiny and wet looking (That is not negative comment).
There is nothing I hate more than to have a lipstick which drys your lips. If this happens then I have to put lipgloss on top which completely ruins the whole matte lipstick idea. With this lipstick, I found it is fairly drying at the start but when you lick your lips and rub them together a few times, it becomes more suculent and juicy. Another huge problem for me is the smell of the lippy. It is very over powering and has a fousty odor to it: I really do hate it! Most of the Bobbi Brown lipsticks smell like this which is a downfall, and even the taste is nasty too. If you have Bobbi Brown lipsticks then do you agree or is it just me?

For me, this vibrant lipstick is by far the best RED lipstick I have tried as not only is the thick, creamy coverage excellent, the fact it is longlasting is brilliant too. Although the price is expensive I would say it is worth it for the high quality. It may not be for everyone, but I really do like it. However, next time I will probably stick to my cheap Rimmel London or Natural Collection lipsticks as they are still pretty good quality.
