LIFE CHANGE

So, what has been occurring in the life of Abi Horsey? Not much, but here are a few snaps of my summer and beginning of the Autumn. As you'll see I went to Majorca with one of my besties, Laura (aka Tri) and I had the most amazing time! The weather was fantastic and we had such a brilliant time relaxing on the hot sand, swimming in the crystal clear blue sea and paddling the pool. Yes, admittedly sunbathing was a priority of ours, but we also got to explore a load of Majorca and all its lovely little villages.

WARNING: many many many photos ahead.

Wow, it's really been almost three months since I last did a blog post. I'm ashamed of myself! Although the truth is I haven't really been inspired much recently, or had the will to write anything on here. I went through a long phase of not having the best time and feeling pretty alone and low, what with all my school work, driving pressures and friends as well. I still do feel like this but instead of brewing in my own pool of self pity, I would rather just be strong and try and change these depressing thoughts of mine to more positive ones. I've learnt recently who my real friends are, which is the most important and vital thing to know, and see that I have such a supportive family, and that this threat and danger of driving is just a phase and I need to see it's just so exciting! It felt like yesterday I was just learning to ride a bike (even though I still can't ride one now!), and now I'm learning to drive. Weird eh? I think its that time of year when you reminisce and think of your life - considering the weather has massively altered to rain, cold and storms, you can't exactly be extremely positive, obviously unless you are snuggled up in bed with a hot chocolate, then that's a completely different story. I hate this sudden transition from sun to storm and these mid autumn season blues.

So time for a change, in appearance, mind and actions. That ultimately means MORE BLOG POSTS from Velvet Passion - it's about time. Writing this post reminds me of how much I missed this, however I am stuck for ideas so I will need to screw my thinking cap on.

WASHINGTON DC

Just under three weeks ago I went to Washington DC with the school for an A Level History trip for 8 days. The whole journey itself (including the bus, taxi and plane flight) was about 22 hours so it was quite exhausting. For the 7ish days we were properly there, we spent 5 days doing museum and historical visits, such as the White House, Natural History museum and Holocaust Museum. It did start to get boring by the end...

The shopping day was what I was looking forward to the most, but I must admit is was very disappointing. I didn't find any shops that I liked expect for a makeup store. From there I bought about $55 worth of Mac Makeup: Studio sculpt foundation, bronzer, concealer and lipgloss - I bought so much for so little money. All of that would have cost me about £30 here which is absolutely AMAZING! I was so buzzing with my buys.

However, I did get to go shopping on the last full day in Chinatown. There was an urban outfitters, american apparel, forever 21, H&M, Zara etc. I spend $150 in American Apparel, but that was my main aim of the trip to spend lots of money in there! I bought a crop top, dress, denim sleeveless shirt and cami top. It was cheaper in America so I took full advantage of that.

To sum the trip it up I found quite a lot of the museums fairly average and the shopping was bbrilliant in Chinatown and the little makeup store. Of course I absolutely LOVED the food, it was to die for. I literally was full all the time but I couldn't resist eating all the time as it all looked so good. Although their food is mostly quite crappy, it was mint for the week we were there.

NEWQUAY HOLIDAY WITH THE GALS

Me, Lucie, Paige, Robyn, Paula, Bonnie, Laura, Helena and Kate
As many of you would have read in my previous posts, I had a holiday in Newquay with all my best friends. We went for a week, and that was PLENTY of time; any more and we probably would have killed eachother haha. It was basically endless nights of going out late into Newquay and buying our way into clubs.. the usual for the Newquay holiday. Thankfully nobody got hurt or ridiculously drunk as otherwise it could have put a downer on our time away. All of us gained nicknames, some are more embarrassing than others.

Anyway I had the most amazing time ever and it is a holiday that I will always remember: I have plenty of memories to last me a life time! I hope all the other GCSE lot who went to Newquay had a great time too like we all did (Hope nothing horrendous happened!) It was so wierd how basically every person I spoke to was from Bristol/Bath! - perhaps I will bump into them, but I doubt I will remember any of them.
